Marie-Colombe Robichaud

Née en 1943 à Chéticamp, au Cap-Breton (N.-É.), Marie-Colombe Robichaud oeuvre à préserver et à promouvoir la culture et la langue acadiennes dans son milieu. Avec l’appui de son mari et de ses trois enfants, elle a fondé les Éditions et le Théâtre de la Piquine. Elle a écrit une quinzaine de pièces de théâtre qu’elle monte annuellement depuis 1995 et fait paraître six livres, dont trois recueils d’histoires du passé. Elle a aussi été invitée à titre de conteuse dans des festivals de contes aux Maritimes, au Québec et en France. Malgré un handicap visuel, poursuit à sa façon l’oeuvre de son oncle, le regretté père Anselme Chiasson.
Born in 1943 in Chéticamp, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Marie-Colombe Robichaud works to preserve and promote the Acadian language and culture in her area. With the support of her husband and three children, she founded the Éditions and Théâtre de la Piquine. She has written about fifteen plays that she has staged annually since 1995 and has published six books, including three collections of stories from the past. As a storyteller, she has also been invited to festivals in the Maritimes, Québec, and France. Despite a visual handicap, she has pursued in her own way the work of her uncle, the late father Anselme Chiasson.
