After travelling thousands of kilometres, Swallow discovers that the place where she usually nests has been transformed from top to bottom. The family farm has been replaced by a large-scale agricultural operation. She has to look for a new place to give birth to her young. The journey is long, but not without humour and hope. She meets Moose, Deer, Raccoon, all of whom have their own difficulties. However, the day dawns on a perfectly welcoming place where everything is in place for animals and humans to live together in harmony.

Jo-Anne Elder

Jo-Anne Elder est écrivaine, traductrice littéraire et travailleuse communautaire. Elle a traduit plus d'une vingtaine d'ouvrages littéraires, dont trois ont été finalistes pour le Prix du Gouverneur général. Jo-Anne a publié une collection de micronouvelles poétiques, Postcards from Ex-Lovers, et un chapbook, Blessings. Elle écrit et traduit de la poésie, de la fiction et du théâtre à Fredericton.

Réjean Roy

Réjean Roy a grandi à Petit-Rocher, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Il a fait des études en biologie au Québec, où il s'est aussi inscrit à des cours de beaux-arts. Il a également suivi des cours d'estampe à l'Université de Moncton. Après avoir vécu une dizaine d'années en Gaspésie, il est revenu vivre au Nouveau-Brunswick en l'an 2000. Le dessin a toujours fait partie de sa vie, et la nature reste la grande inspiratrice de son apprentissage artistique.

Réjean Roy grew up in Petit-Rocher, New Brunswick. He studied biology in Québec, where he also took fine arts classes. He also took courses in printing at the University of Moncton. After living in Gaspésie for about ten years, he came back to live in New Brunswick in the year 2000. Drawing has always been a part of his life, and nature remains the great inspiration for his artistic learning.

Émilie Demers est enseignante au primaire. Débordante d’énergie et la tête remplie d’idées, elle a toujours de nouveaux projets. Elle combine donc sa passion pour l’enseignement et ses talents artistiques afin d’écrire et d’illustrer des albums jeunesse. Elle a signé une dizaine d’albums, dont Prise de becs (2019, Isatis) et La chasse aux taches tenaces (2021, Isatis), qui ont été finalistes au prix Peuplier.

Émilie Demers is a primary teacher. Overflowing with energy and with a head full of ideas, she always has new projects on the go. Therefore, she combines her passion for teaching with her artistic talents in order to write and illustrate children’s books. She has published about ten books, including Prise de becs (Spat) (2019, Isatis) and La Chasse aux taches tenaces (The Hunt for Stubborn Stains) (2021, Isatis), which were finalists for the Peuplier Award.
