Loretta Gould

Loretta Gould est une artiste mi’kmaq originaire de la Première Nation We’koqma’q, située à l’ile du Cap-Breton, en Nouvelle-Écosse. Autodidacte, elle a vendu ses première peintures en Finlande et en Allemagne il y a une dizaine d’années et n’a pas cessé de créer depuis. Son art est spirituel et ses sources d’inspiration sont diverses : sa famille, sa communauté, sa culture et la nature qui l’entoure.
Loretta Gould is a self-taught Mi’kmaq artist from We’koqma’q First Nation, situated on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. She sold her first paintings in Finland and Germany ten years ago and has not stopped creating since. Her art is spiritual, and her sources of inspiration are diverse: her family, her community, her culture, and the nature that surrounds her.
