Sheila O’Neill
Sheila O’Neill est originaire de Kippens (Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador) et elle est Mi’kmaq, membre de la Première Nation Qalipu. Sheila est porteuse de tambour et véhicule
de nombreux enseignements transmis par des Ainés respectés. En tant que membre fondatrice et ancienne présidente du Newfoundland Aboriginal Women’s Network (NAWN), elle a participé à un mouvement populaire d’autonomisation des femmes autochtones dans la partie insulaire de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador. Sheila O’Neill is from Kippens (Newfoundland and Labrador), and is a member of Qalipu Mikmag First Nation. Sheila is a Drum Carrier and carries many teachings passed down by respected Elders. As a founding member and past president of the Newfoundland Aboriginal Women’s Network (NAWN), she has been part of a grassroots movement of empowerment of Indigenous women within the island portion of Newfoundland and Labrador.
