A true story of friendship : Gracie and Glenda dream of  singing and dancing on stage. Their dream comes true in  a musical inspired by the novel  Anne of Green Gables !

Gracie Finley and Glenda Landry, two young girls from Charlottetown Prince Edward Island, both dream of being on stage. This is in  the 1960's, just as the Confederation Centre of the Arts opens its doors in their hometown. Gracie and Glenda soon join the new theatre's company of actors and become best friends. To the delight of audiences, they take on the roles of kindred spirits Anne and Diana in the marvelous musical inspired by the novel Anne of Green Gables.

Le Québécois Jean-Luc Trudel est venu à l’illustration après plusieurs détours: fabricant de vitrail, imprimeur, infographiste… Il a signé chez Bouton d’or Acadie les magnifiques images des titres Le pit à papa (2015), Mémére Soleil, Nannie Lune (2016), Rideau rouge et pignons verts (2017) et Tommy Tempête (2021).

 

Jean-Luc Trudel, from Québec, became an illustrator after a few detours: he was first a stained-glass artist, a printer, a graphic designer... At Bouton d’or Acadie, he has drawn wonderful photos for the titles Le Pit à papa (Papa’s Pit) (2015), Mémère Soleil, Nannie Lune (My Two Grandmothers) (2016), Meet Me at Green Gables (2017), and Tommy Tempête (Tommy the Storm) (2021).

Originaire du village acadien de Cocagne, au Nouveau‑Brunswick, Michel Bourque vit aujourd’hui dans la campagne de l’Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Auteur de Les moutons de Vimy et de Rideau rouge et pignons verts / Meet Me at Green Gables, il a également adapté plusieurs albums jeunesse. Sa traduction française de La grosse patate a remporté un prix de Communication-Jeunesse, tandis que sa traduction anglaise d’Un bleu si bleu, lauréat du Prix Saint-Exupéry, a été saluée dans The New York Times.

Michel a aussi mené une carrière riche et diversifiée dans les secteurs public, privé et communautaire, développant une expertise reconnue en arts, culture et patrimoine, au Canada comme en France. De ses débuts comme éditeur au sein d’une maison internationale spécialisée en littérature jeunesse à ses fonctions de direction dans diverses institutions culturelles, son parcours témoigne d’un engagement constant envers la création et le partage d’histoires.

Originally from the Acadian village of Cocagne in New Brunswick, Michel Bourque now lives in the countryside of Prince Edward Island. He is the author of Les moutons de Vimy and Meet Me at Green Gables / Rideau rouge et pignons verts, and has adapted several children’s books. His French translation of The Enormous Potato received a Communication-Jeunesse award, while his English translation of A Blue So Blue, winner of the Prix Saint-Exupéry, was praised in The New York Times.

Michel has also built a rich and varied career across the public, private, and community sectors, developing recognized expertise in arts, culture, and heritage in both Canada and France. From his early work as an editor with an international children’s publisher to his leadership roles within cultural institutions, his path reflects a deep commitment to the creation and sharing of stories.
